THE HAUNTED

The Haunted are one of Sweden’s most influential modern thrash and death metal bands, formed in Gothenburg in 1996 by members of the legendary At the Gates. Combining aggressive thrash riffs with melodic death metal intensity, the band quickly established itself with acclaimed albums such as The Haunted (1998), Made Me Do It (2000), One Kill Wonder (2003), and Revolver (2004). Despite several lineup changes over the years, The Haunted have remained a leading force in extreme metal, releasing ten studio albums, most recently Songs of Last Resort (2025). Renowned for their relentless live performances and uncompromising sound, the band continues to represent the finest traditions of Swedish extreme metal.

TIAMAT

Tiamat are one of Sweden’s most influential gothic metal bands, founded near Stockholm in 1990 by vocalist and guitarist Johan Edlund. Originally emerging from the black/death metal project Treblinka, the band evolved from early death-doom releases such as The Astral Sleep (1991) and Clouds (1992) into the atmospheric gothic sound that defined the landmark album Wildhoney (1994). Blending heavy riffs with psychedelic rock, gothic influences, and dark, mystical themes inspired by mythology and H. P. Lovecraft, Tiamat established a unique identity within the metal scene. With ten studio albums and a career spanning more than three decades, the band remains a highly respected and influential name in gothic metal.

NON EST DEUS

Non Est Deus began as a one-man project and has grown into one of the most distinctive acts in modern black metal across five studio albums. Led by Noise (Kanonenfieber), the band combines melodic black metal with dark, atmospheric songwriting inspired by biblical narratives, religious symbolism, and themes of suffering, faith, guilt, and decay. Their masked live lineup transforms concerts into immersive ritualistic performances, blending powerful visuals with intense musicianship. UNLEASHED

Unleashed are one of the pioneers of Swedish death metal, formed in Stockholm in 1989 by vocalist and bassist Johnny Hedlund. Alongside Entombed, Dismember, and Grave, they are regarded as one of the genre’s «big four.» Their uncompromising blend of brutal old-school death metal and Viking-inspired themes has defined classics such as Where No Life Dwells (1991), Shadows in the Deep (1992), and Victory (1995). After a short hiatus around the turn of the millennium, the band returned stronger than ever, continuing their acclaimed Viking concept with albums including The Hunt for White Christ (2018) and No Sign of Life (2021). With a remarkably stable lineup and over three decades of relentless touring and recording, Unleashed remain one of the most respected and enduring names in death metal.

MANEGARM

Månegarm are one of Sweden’s leading Viking metal bands, formed in Norrtälje in 1995. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, Scandinavian history, and traditional folk music, the band combines melodic death metal with epic Viking metal, enriched by acoustic passages, violins, and clean vocals. Since their debut album Nordstjärnans Tidsålder (1998), Månegarm have built a loyal international following through acclaimed releases such as Vargstenen (2007), Legions of the North (2013), and numerous extensive tours. Renowned for their powerful live performances and authentic Nordic atmosphere, Månegarm remain one of the genre’s most respected and enduring acts.

LAMP OF MURMUUR

Lamp of Murmuur is an American black metal project from Los Angeles, founded in 2019 by the enigmatic musician known only as M.. Emerging from the underground with a series of acclaimed demos, the project quickly gained recognition for its distinctive blend of raw black metal, atmospheric darkness, and gothic influences. Albums such as Heir of Ecliptical Romanticism (2020), Submission and Slavery (2021), and Saturnian Bloodstorm further expanded its musical scope while remaining rooted in uncompromising black metal. With its mysterious identity and constantly evolving sound, Lamp of Murmuur has established itself as one of the most compelling contemporary acts in the underground black metal scene.

FEN

Fen are an atmospheric black metal band from the Fens of eastern England, formed in 2006. Drawing inspiration from the bleak landscapes of their native region, the trio combines black metal with post-rock and ambient influences to create expansive, melancholic soundscapes. Since their acclaimed debut The Malediction Fields (2009), Fen have continued to refine their distinctive style through albums such as Epoch (2011), Dustwalker (2013), Winter (2017), The Dead Light (2019), and Monuments to Absence (2023). Renowned for their immersive compositions and emotionally charged songwriting, Fen have established themselves as one of the leading bands in the atmospheric black metal scene.

OBSCURITY

Obscurity are a German melodic death and black metal band with strong Viking metal influences, founded in 1997 in Velbert. Over nearly three decades, the band has forged a distinctive sound that combines aggressive riffs, melodic guitar work, and epic songwriting inspired by Norse mythology and the history of their native Bergisches Land. Albums such as Schlachten & Legenden (2007) and Várar (2009) established Obscurity as one of Germany’s leading Viking and pagan metal acts. Known for their energetic live performances and uncompromising approach, the band continues to deliver powerful, melodic extreme metal rooted in tradition and authenticity.

BACKCRAFT

Backcraft are a Swiss heavy/thrash metal band from Küssnacht am Rigi, founded in 2021. Blending classic heavy metal with fast-paced thrash influences, the quartet delivers powerful riffs, soaring vocals, and energetic songwriting inspired by the spirit of old-school metal. Since their formation, Backcraft have steadily developed their own unmistakable style, culminating in their second album Faster Than You Run (2026), which showcases a heavier, faster, and more confident sound. MESHINERY are a Swiss death/thrash metal band from Altdorf, featuring experienced musicians from The Cranium, Voracity, and Intractable. Calarook are a Swiss pirate metal band founded in 2014, combining folk metal melodies with crushing death metal and a healthy dose of pirate-themed fun.
