Sólstafir is an Icelandic rock and metal band renowned for their unique fusion of black metal roots, post-rock atmospherics, and haunting Nordic melancholy. SYLVAINE
Sylvaine is the solo project of Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Kathrine Shepard, founded in Oslo in 2013. Blending atmospheric black metal, blackgaze, shoegaze, and ethereal folk influences, Sylvaine has earned acclaim for its deeply emotional and immersive sound. Shepard released her debut album Silent Chamber, Noisy Heart in 2014, followed by Wistful (2016), Atoms Aligned, Coming Undone (2018), and Nova (2022). The latter helped establish Sylvaine as one of the most distinctive voices in modern atmospheric metal. A classically trained musician, Shepard is renowned for her evocative songwriting, haunting vocals, and ability to create music that is both fragile and powerful.
SCHAMMASCH
Schammasch is a Swiss avant-garde black metal band from Basel, formed in 2009. Known for their ambitious and genre-defying approach, the band blends black metal with elements of ambient, doom, death, and experimental music. Maintaining an aura of anonymity, the members are known only by their initials. Schammasch gained international recognition with albums such as Contradiction (2014), the critically acclaimed Triangle (2016), and Hearts of No Light (2019). Their latest release, The Maldoror Chants: Old Ocean (2024), continues their exploration of dark spirituality and artistic boundaries, cementing their reputation as one of the most innovative acts in modern extreme metal.
THE SPIRIT
The Spirit is a German blackened death metal band formed in Saarbrücken in 2015. Blending the ferocity of black metal with the power and precision of death metal, the band has gained recognition for their atmospheric songwriting, razor-sharp guitar work, and cosmic themes. Their lyrics explore humanity’s place within the vastness of the universe, combining misanthropic reflections with astronomical concepts. Since their debut Sounds from the Vortex (2017), The Spirit has released a string of acclaimed albums, including Cosmic Terror (2020), Of Clarity and Galactic Structures (2022), and Songs Against Humanity (2024). Renowned for their intense and uncompromising live performances, The Spirit continue to establish themselves as one of Germany’s most compelling extreme metal acts.
E-L-R
E-L-R is a Swiss doomgaze trio from Bern, formed in 2016 by longtime friends I.R. and S.M., later joined by drummer M.K. Blending elements of doom metal, shoegaze, black metal, and psychedelia, the band creates immersive soundscapes that balance crushing heaviness with ethereal atmosphere. Following their debut album Mænad (2019), released through Prophecy Productions, E-L-R expanded their sonic palette with the acclaimed sophomore album Vexier (2022), exploring themes of emotion, introspection, and transformation. Known for their organic songwriting and cinematic approach, E-L-R have established themselves as one of the most distinctive voices in the modern European doom and post-metal scene.
ERNTE
Ernte is a Swiss black metal band founded in 2020 by Häxär, a multidisciplinary artist with nearly two decades of experience in dark ambient music, photography, painting, and graphic design. Seeking a return to his black metal roots, he formed Ernte as the band’s primary songwriter, guitarist, recording engineer, and producer. Joined by vocalist, bassist, and violinist Askahex—known for her work with Ashtar and shEver—Ernte combines traditional black metal with atmospheric and melodic elements. Their music channels real-world hostility and ancient spiritual energies, creating a sound that is both raw and evocative. Following their successful live debut in 2023, the band released their third album, Weltenzerstörer, in 2024.
WAZZARA
Wazzara is a Swiss atmospheric metal project founded in 2015 by singer and composer Barbara Brawand. Blending atmospheric black metal, doom, and blackgaze, the band creates immersive soundscapes that balance crushing heaviness with ethereal beauty. Following the release of the EP Zessa (2019), Wazzara evolved into a full band with bassist and co-composer George Necola joining the project. Their discography includes Cycles (2021), Ombreine (2023), and Arbor (2026), a conceptually rich album exploring themes of wisdom, resilience, and ancient forces. Renowned for their hypnotic live performances, Wazzara continues to establish a unique voice within the atmospheric metal scene.
